Confessional Situation in Ethiopia: the Growing Influence of Islam

The article provides a brief historical overview of Islam in Ethiopia, its position in the empire before 1974 and its relationship with Christianity, as well as the changes that took place under the communist regime of Mengistu and after its overthrow in 1991.
