THE IMPORTANCE OF EARLY LIFE LESSONS: WHAT CAN INFANTILE COLIC TEACH THE ENTERIC AND CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM OF A CHILD?

This article examines some of the mechanisms underlying the long-term negative effects of infant colic (IC) on child health. Particular attention is paid to the influence of disturbances in the composition of intestinal microbiota, which underlie the formation of IC, and to the functioning of the enteric and central nervous systems. The article provides data on the possibility of effective prevention of IC, which can increase the child’s chances for a healthy future. © 2022, Pediatria Ltd. All rights reserved.
