Bilateral investment protection and promotion agreements as sources of international investment law and the peculiarities of their legal nature

World trade and investment have grown with the growth of production and consumption. If in the past the transaction activities were mainly tangible products, today more and more products and services, intangible. The legal entities in the transaction market have also increased in number and size, conducting commercial business in a specialized and multidisciplinary direction. The transaction methods are also increasingly modern, new commercial services are born. In addition, investment promotion, technology transfer cooperation, and facilitation of customs procedures in cooperation between countries, manufacturers and distributors are also promoted. Due to this development, the agreement between countries in trade is also increasingly expanding content. Bilateral investment protection and promotion agreements play a very important role in that process. This article focuses on analyzing the role of Bilateral investment protection and promotion agreements as sources of international investment law and the peculiarities of their legal nature.
