The article presents the ideas of the authors regarding the problems and prospects for the development of public-private partnerships in Russia. The authors emphasize that the modern state cannot single-handedly implement expensive infrastructure projects, therefore it is interested in developing a public-private partnership, which is gaining more and more popularity. In Russia, the initiators of public-private partnership projects are in most cases the state, a typical form of such projects is a concession agreement. The main trends in the development of public-private partnership projects, according to the authors, are: digitalization of the sphere of projects (creation of a unified information system on national infrastructure and regional electronic information platforms for promoting infrastructure projects at different levels); additional budget infrastructure costs; improving the regulatory framework for public-private partnerships. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.
