The paper presents the results of an analysis of the impact of requirements on the quality of service and traffic on the structure of the telecommunication networks of the fifth and beyond generations. Given the crucial role of the network in building an effective digital economy, the concept of a digital cluster is introduced. A model is proposed that allows you to choose the size of a digital cluster, taking into account the requirements for the quality of service of subscriber traffic and the distribution of users on the territory. The proposed model allows you to create a network structure of digital clusters, taking into account various requirements and user traffic. A method for the location of service delivery points is also proposed, using the proposed model to select the sizes of digital clusters. The results can be used in modeling and planning telecommunication networks of the fifth and beyond generations. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020.
