In vitro inhibition of hiv infection by the conjugate of cd4 with l- ysine-α-oxydase

L-lysme-α-oxydase was isolated from the Trich.jderma Rifai fungi to neai homogeneity and conjugated with recoiTibinant soluble CD4 receptor through SH-group. The antiviral jouvity of this conjugate was then analysed in MT4 cell line under tlïe condition of adding the agent (.' prior to HIV infection, and /'/ 24h after cell inoculation by the \irus by using EEISA, syncytihm formation and survival assay. The antiviral effect was observed o the conjugate concentration of 0.01 ng/ml, while at its c ;ncemration of 0.1 ug/ml in both experimental conditions the v.rus was not found in MT4 cells by any assay employed. Complex, suppression of HIV reproduction and the suppression of syncy.iuiii formation did occur at the conjugate concentration of I 7mu;g/ml. None of the conjugates' concentration used (and even its higher concentration of 100-200 ug/ml) did effect M T4 cells viabilu\. The antiviral effect of the conjugate significantly exceeded the effect of its separate components. The major implication of the obsened antiviral effect of the conjugate is its potential clinical application.
