The purpose of the study is to determine the optimal time of the electrolysis process and its effect on treatment efficiency using a combined installation consisting of electrolysis and ultraviolet (UV) disinfection processes. The time of the electrocoagulation treatment varied from 10 to 25 minutes, and the time of photochemical exposure varied from 5 to 30 minutes, 122 respectively. The experimental resultsproved the treatment by the combined installation consisting of electrolysis and ultraviolet (UV) disinfection to be effective as the level of iron in wastewater decreased by more than 99%.The best result for iron ions removal was achieved with a 10 minute electrolysis treatment of wastewater samples from the cooling line.
