The article concerns the evaluation of teacher-pupil relationship in different culture regions and traditions. For the Far East culture especially for Ancient India, not only respectful but rather the sacralizing of teacher was typical, what can not leave a mark on understanding of education process, which turns in this way on an sacral act. For West European such a sacralization was typical only in the Middle Age that was caused through believe that only God is the true teacher and other earthly teachers are His representation. However this understanding was substituted at the beginning of 17th century with more instrumental approach both to knowledge and teacher person, the dismal results of which we can see in our education system today. © 2018 Izdatel'stvo Nauka.
