The image of a migrantin the contemporary Russian TV journalism discourse

Migrants who find themselves in a new socio-cultural and linguistic environment also find themselves in a situation of mental and socio-cultural discomfort, beginning to live a double life: The one of the host community and their own community. This aspect is reflected in the formation of the perception of the very image of the migrant in the new ethno-linguistic environment, and in the environment of the country of his or her origin. The constantly growing number of labor and educational migrants is becoming more and more noticeable both in Russia and in Europe; the very attitude to this fact is rather ambiguous and sometimes painful. This problem is becoming a cornerstone in the modern globalizing society, as the intensification of social tension is manifested by increasingly frequent clashes. There are frequent examples of negative attitude towards migrants in people who have no real experience of interaction with them, which indicates a high probability of media influence on the formation of such a relationship. This problem prompted us to study the attitude towards modern migrants in representatives of different socio-demographic groups.
