The main research methods involved are the comparative typological method, empirical method, observation method, auditory analysis method, instrumental methods, and generalisation of the obtained results. The study yielded results at the theoretical level and at the practical level. The results of the study can contribute to solving theoretical problems of general, particular and comparative linguistics, common problems of phonetic interference as well as practical tasks of helping Japanese speakers to eliminate a foreign accent by arranging educational materials and developing effective methods to overcome phonetic interference.
