VARIATIONS OF 87SR / 86SR RATIO IN NEEDLES AND BARK OF SCOTS PINE FROM THE MOSCOW REGION

This paper is devoted to the study of the isotopic composition of 87Sr / 86Sr in different parts of a single coniferous tree. It also identifies the variations patterns of this isotopic ratio. The paper suggests that the isotopic composition of strontium in needles reflects the isotopic composition of the environment, and variations in the isotopic composition of strontium are determined by variations in the ratio of strontium sources (groundwater, aerosol particles) in different parts of a plant. The research was carried out as a part of bachelor's thesis preparation in the laboratory of isotope geochemistry and geochronology at the IGEM RAS (Moscow).
