THE CULTURAL AND EDUCATIONAL EFFECTS OF THE APPLICATIONS OF LANGUAGE STYLES IN TELEVISION PROGRAMS

Television is a common social media, which transmits information, entertainment, art, sports, religion, political, economy and culture throughout the entire society. The language used by the television programs is directly captured by the society, because the television usually uses the prominent language in the particular society. The main objective of this study was to analyze the quality of the language of television. The other objective is to analyze the effect of television program on the culture and education in the society. The methodology of this study was based on qualitative data that was gathered by the participant's observation as a lifetime member of audience and furthermore literature sources were used to this study. Subsequently the data was analyzed descriptively and comparatively. The rapid growth of technology was cause to the development of television programs. According to the language used by journalist the language of the television program decided and it directly has effect on the mass society, who were the audience of that program. Especially the young generation addicted to new lexicons and they add these words to their academic language. So that the new lexicons diffused the eminent language in the society and it is has a harmful effect to the culture and education. The thinking ability of the population has decayed and the writing skills have gone downward. The television is used to fulfill the few stuffy businessmen's promoting campaigns and the society takes it as blinds. However, the responsibility of the television is not that, but rather developing the society with values, norms, attitudes and intelligence. Without fulfilling this responsibility, the television language has no worth in a single time space within the television program.
