The mechanisms of mud pots waters isotope composition formation

Isotopic composition of the aqueous-phase oxygen and hydrogen in the products of 16 mud volcanoes of Taman peninsula and 4 Kachetian (Georgia) volcanoes was investigated. The spatial distribution of δD and δ18O characteristics is analyzed as well as their correlation with the water salt composition formation temperatures. The evaporation-condensation and isotope exchange processes in the system illite-methane-H2O are considered as controlling for evolution of isotopic parameters of mud volcanism products.
