Neurologic syndromes in hypocalcemia due to insufficiency of the parathyroid glands (Russian)

Neuropsychic disorders in hypocalcemia, due to insufficiency of the parathyroid glands are labelled as pseudoneuritic, encephalopathic and encephalomyelopathic syndromes. Often enough these changes occur in combination with CSF hypertension and convulsive seizures. The pathogenesis is conditioned by hypocalcemia. The secondary disorders in the form of changed protein and water metabolism and cellular alkaline balance are also of a certain importance. The therapy consists of the prescription of calcium, parathyroidin and vitamin D and is most effective in the initial phase of the disease.
