Transplantation of the testis in endocrinous forms of impotency (Russian)

A new technique of homotransplantation of a testis on an arteriovenous pedicle, using the inferior epigastric vessels, was performed in 25 patients with the postcastration syndrome and primary hypogonadism, after optimal selection of the donor and recipient for compatibility. To suppress the tissue incompatibility reaction a program of immunosuppressive therapy was conducted. In the majority of patients favorable results were obtained (at followup terms up to 6 yr).
