The treatment is reported of 60 patients with nervous anorexia (14 cases of schizophrenia and 46 cases of borderline states) in conditions of out and in patient services. Two stages of the treatment are described: 'nonspecific', directed towards an increase of weight; and specific, directed towards the treatment of the main disease. Special attention is drawn to the role of psychotherapy in the group of patients with borderline states and the role of behavior of the personnel in rendering services to this group.
