Late results of scleroplasty in surgical treatment of progressive myopia

Scleroplasty may be used in progressive myopia to reinforce the posterior pole of the eye. Technically, and by the results obtained, the operation is simpler and more effective than similar interventions described in the literature. No complications affecting the outcome of the operation were observed in 102 cases of surgical treatment. Within the followup period (up to 5 yr), no progression of myopia was recorded.
