THE INFLUENCE OF MODERN WAYS OF COMMUNICATION IN GLOBAL MEDIAON THE MODERN RUSSIAN LANGUAGE

The evolution of the modern communication is happening rapidly and is largely influenced by the global media. This article examines the impact of global media on the modern Russian language, how the modern age of globalization and the fact that media is a cultural product create an issue of homogenization (1). The article explores the implications that arise with modern ways of communication, specifically the evolution of the language including briefness, use of abbreviations, loanwords, emoji, slang and punctuation. The focus of this paper is on the vocabulary, grammar and writing styles, which highlight the transformation that the modern Russian language is undergoing.
