TRANSLATION STRATEGIES OF ENGLISH TITLES INTO RUSSIANIN THE FILM DISCOURSE

The article is devoted to the analysis of translation strategies of English film titles into Russian. The study presents the main features and functions of titles and their generalizing classification. The material for the study covers English-language films of diverse genres, released in the Russian Federation in 2022. Based on the conducted research, it is concluded that there are three major trends in the modern translation in the film discourse: domestication (primarily in the form of linguistic and cultural adaptation), misleading translation, orientation to the audience and the box office success of the film.
