PRAGMATIC ASPECTOF METAPHORS IN ENGLISH NEWS DISCOURSE

This article is devoted to the study of the pragmatic potential of the use of metaphors in English news discourse. The authors highlight the role of metaphors in creating meaning and conveying information in media context. They analyze how metaphors can influence readers' perception of information. The use of metaphors to establish an emotional connection with the audience and their influence on opinion formation are considered.
