What do a euthanasia smartwatch, artificially designed fruits, and the ability of female human bodies to reproduce endangered species all have in common? They are all products of Speculative Design. This article discusses the concept of Speculative Design and the origins of this methods. Examples of projects inspired by this methodology are given. Also, there are benefits for designers who want to go down this path and learn Speculative Design.
