Using Features of Ultrasound for the Diagnosis and Observation of Patients with Hearing Impairment

The studies reported here confirmed the value of ultrasound tests in the differential diagnosis of various hearing disorders: otosclerosis, adhesive otitis media, Ménière's disease, and chronic purulent otitis media, as well as sensorineural deafness of various etiologies. A new compact and inexpensive device based on state-of-the-art components was developed to provide maximal convenience in carrying out the differential diagnosis of different forms of deafness using the phenomenon of ultrasound perception.
