The article examines the influence of the works of the famous writer Fyodor Mikhailovich Dostoevsky on English literature and culture as a whole. It also presents the statements of the great literary classics about F.M. Dostoevsky and his novels. In addition, the article presents a list of special courses devoted to the works of F. M. Dostoevsky, which are currently studied in universities and colleges in the USA and Great Britain. There are reviews of the main critical articles, essays, and dissertations on Dostoevsky's works written by prominent English-speaking novelists and literary scholars of the time. A brief description of the era is given, and the author's followers are introduced, including Matthew Arnold, George Gissing, George Meredith, Oscar Wilde and others. The article describes the interpretation of their opinions on the works of the great Russian writer and the degree of influence of F. M. Dostoevsky's works on the literary trends of his contemporaries. A comparison of the characters in Dostoevsky's novels and other English-speaking authors is given.
