РЕЦЕПЦИЯ МИФА ОБ ОРФЕЕ И ЭВРИДИКЕ В ДРАМАТУРГИИ Ю. О'НИЛА

Миф - это основной способ создания условной картины мира в литературе ХХ века, для которой на первый план выходит субъективное авторское самосознание, поиск новых художественных форм, разрушение линейности повествования, мимесиса и именно через миф - «коммуникативную систему, некоторое сообщение, форму, способ обозначения» [1, с. 265] - остро передается ощущение дисгармоничности и абсурдности бытия, его диссонанс с внутренним миром художника. Помимо непосредственно эстетической функции, мифы обогащают художественный мир произведения, превращая его в палимпсест, где уровень за уровнем в процессе чтения читателю приоткрывается бесконечность и многогранность культурных пластов - так автор вступает в дискуссию с различными эпохами и литературными памятниками. Мифологический подтекст (библейские аллюзии, христианская символика, античные архетипы и мифологемы) создает новую архаическую модель «потерянного рая», утопическую картину «американской мечты». Статья посвящена рецепции мифа об Орфее и Эвридике в концепте американской драматургии ХХ века. Данный миф выступает как притча о любви, бесстрашии, гордости, потери доверия и отчаянии. Писатели, взяв за основу сюжета своих драм миф об Орфее и Эвридике, методом соединения и пересечения различных мифологических структур, создают свой авторский «неомиф» об Америке, о положении американского общества, о ментальном, духовном и психологическом переломе человека ХХ века, о судьбе Орфея, представленного как архетип Художника, в мире, где все боги умерли, а люди забыли о добре, любви и милосердии. Лишь призрачная надежда осталась в утопическом мире мечты как спасении из «ада жизни».

REСEPTION OF THE MYTH OF ORPHEUS AND EURUDICE IN THE PLAY "WINGS ARE GIVEN TO ALL HUMAN CHILDREN" BY Y. O'NEILL AND "ORPHEUS DESCENDS TO HELL" BY T. WILLIAMS

Myth is the main way of creating a conditional picture of the world in the literature of the twentieth century, for which subjective author's self-consciousness, the search for new artistic forms, the destruction of the linearity of narration, mimesis, and it is through myth - "a communicative system, some message, form, method of designation" [1, p. 265] - the feeling of disharmony and absurdity of existence, its dissonance with the inner world of the artist is acutely conveyed. In addition to the aesthetic function itself, myths enrich the artistic world of the work, turning it into a palimpsest, where, level by level, in the process of reading, the infinity and versatility of cultural layers are revealed to the reader - this is how the author enters into a discussion with various epochs and literary monuments. The mythological subtext (biblical allusions, сhristian symbolism, ancient archetypes and mythologems) creates a new archaic model of the "paradise lost", an utopian picture of the "American dream". The article is devoted to the reception of the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice in the concept of American drama of the twentieth century. This myth is an allegorical parable about immortal love, trust, seduction and cruelty. Writers, taking the myth of Orpheus and Eurydice as the basis for the plot of their dramas, using the method of connecting and crossing various mythological structures, create their own author's "neo-myth" about America, about the situation of American society, about the mental, spiritual and psychological turning point in the soul of a person of the twentieth century, about the fate of Orpheus, presented as an archetype of the Artist, in the world where all the gods died, and people forgot about kindness, love and mercy. Only a ghostly hope remained in love and a dream as salvation from "own hell".
