HARANGUE" IN THE PROCESS OF FORMING THE TRANSLATION COMPETENCE FOR THE PROTOCOL OFFICER

During the research, the author proved the translation component in the protocol officer's professional competence, which is an essential component of his professionalism and has its specifics. Therefore, it requires a specially developed methodology for its formation (Churganova M.D., 2020). The author suggests including diplomatic discourse genres typical for a protocol officers' activity in the methodology content. For this purpose, the author analyzed the diplomatic discourse where she signed out the protocol discourse. The analysis made it possible to consider the discourse's genres at the level of the communicative situation. Moreover, the author distinguished several oral (conversation, briefing, speech, harangue, debate, interview, consultation, negotiations, press conference) and written (website, verbal note, business card, couvert card, diplomatic notes, memorandum, report, aide-memoire, plan, programme, summary, abstract, circular note, private letters of a semi-official nature) genres typical for a protocol officer's activity. However, it is impossible to include all the selected genres in the developed methodology to form translation competence for protocol officers. That is why the author surveyed protocol officers, which allowed them to identify the nomenclature of most common genres in their activities and caused real difficulties in understanding and drafting protocol documents. As a result, the author obtained the following list of diplomatic protocol discourse's genres: harangue, speech, negotiations (oral genres): note, website, private letters of a semi-official nature (written genres). The author recommends them in the formation of the protocol officer's translation competence. In the article, the author pays special attention to the "harangue" genre, which causes significant difficulties for protocol officers in understanding and analyzing for further compilation of protocol documents. The specialist needs to consider the purpose of the statement, the communicative situation in which it took place, the event's significance, the characteristics of the sender and recipient, view previously existing documents (including documents in native and foreign languages), and so forth. The study's significance consists of the primary genre's characteristics analysis and the difficulties of understanding the politicians' and diplomatic figures' harangues. Among such difficulties, the author highlights the search and analysis of reference material essential for understanding the genre and its characteristics. When writing this article, the author used the following research methods: cross-cultural comparison method, direct observation and extrapolation, surveys, direct observation, experiment.
