Reliability Model of a Homogeneous Hot-Standby k-out-of-n System

We propose a mathematical model of a closed homogeneous redundant hot-standby system. The system consists of a single repair unit and an arbitrary number of unreliable data sources with an exponential distribution function (DF) of uptime and a general independent (GI) DF of the repair time. Explicit analytic expressions have been obtained for the steady-state probabilities (SSP) of the system and the SSP of failure-free system operation.
