CHARASCTERISTICS OF HYDROGEN SORPTION/DESORPTION FOR PALLADIUM FOIL DOPPED YTTRIUM. THE EFFECT OF THERMOGRADIENT TREATMENT

In this work adsorption / desorption properties of Pd-Y foils and influence of thermogradient treatment were studied. Kinetics of Hydrogen (H2) sorption in static conditions was also investigated. Research showed that in case of temperature increase, kinetic coefficients reach their maximum (t0 max = 80 0C) and coefficients ratio is К*(1)/К*(2) = 1. Hydrogen (H2) sorption activation energy during the Kinetics analysis test equals 5 kJ/mole. Hardness of original foil and foil after the adsorption / desorption tests are 30 and 16 kg/mm2 respectively. Thus, hardness of the foil after the adsorption / desorption tests is two times lower than original foil hardness.
