ON THE ISSUE OF EMBEDDED JOURNALISM: THE NATURE OF LEGAL AND ETHICAL CONTROVERSIES

This conference paper deals with the phenomenon of embedded journalism as a mainstream model of modern battlefield reporting and explores the nature of the legal and ethical controversies for which embeds are constantly criticized. The author of this paper offers a comparative analysis of legal statuses of embedded journalists, war correspondents, and unilateral media workers, and reviews those ethical and professional challenges that military reporters have to face while fulfilling their duties during an armed conflict.
