Anxiety and depression are determinants of deterioration quality of life in patients with heart failure. According to foreign authors, the prevalence of anxiety and depression in patients with heart failure significantly exceeds their frequency comparing to the general population. Using the Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale (HADS) we have identified the frequency of these conditions and their associations with severity of heart failure and comorbidities in decompensated heart failure.
