В статье впервые исследуется особенность конфликта жизни и смерти в сознании А. Т Твардовского в годы войны на материале дневников и писем поэта. Прослеживается трансформация образов природы, дома и дороги и многих других. Твардовский приходит в своих размышлениях к пониманию смысла жизни именно в ощущении себя в цепи поколений.

The article first examines the peculiarity of the conflict of life and death in the mind of Twardowski in the war on the material of the diaries and letters of the poet. Traces the transformation of nature images, houses and roads and many others. Twardowski comes in their mind to the understanding of the meaning of life it is in the sense of being in the chain of generations.
