Summary Modern economic theory identifies two types of growth: extensive and intensive. The first is due to the number of used resources, and the second - due to their quality. Innovations are the key factor of intensive growth. But the main question is how to assess such growth. Rating can be one of the ways to solve this problem. It covers all indicators of the different aspects of the development of the area. The main advantage, in our opinion, is the use of statistical methods.
