The article analyzes the 1959 Antarctic Treaty system and ways of its perfection through conclusion of special agreements on separate objects of wildlife management; reveals the reasons which have led to the working out and conclusion of the Agreement on the conservation of albatrosses and petrels (hydrobatidae) of 2001, the interrelation of the latter with the Bonn convention on preservation of migrating species of wild animals; traces the process of the working out of the Agreement on the conservation of albatrosses and petrels (hydrobatidae) analyzes major provisions of the Agreement on the conservation of albatrosses and petrels (hydrobatidae), the competence of its organs and prospect of its further development.
