Headache is the most common complaint in the family doctor's practice. We're considering the headache caused only by changes in the cervical part of the spinal column. A great part in the pathogenesis of this headache is played by the mechanical factor (tension, compression, etc.). 180 patients including 125 women and 55 men aged from 18 to 35 suffering from headaches have undergone clinical and neurological, roentgen logical examinations, as well as MRT and Doppler ultrasound of the vertebral arteries. All the patients had changes in the cervical part of the spinal column (78% had spondylosis and osteochondrosis, 17% had craniover-tebral anomalies, 12% had arthroses of uncovertebral joints). The Doppler ultrasound showed that the patients had low blood velocity. In comparison with other types of headaches, the vertebral headache is characterized by changes of hymodynamics in the vertebral arteries. Headache can be one of the very first symptoms of the development of vascular pathology. Treatment is effective when medicine blockades are combined with traditional pharmacotherapy.
