The electrochemical insertion of alkali metals in transition metal monoxides

Electrochemical insertion of lithium was observed in monoxides ScO, TiO, and VO. The diffusion coefficient in ScO and TiO is 10-14-10-11 cm2 s-1 and in VO, it is 1-3 orders of magnitude smaller. No insertion of lithium in NbO was observed. Sodium does not enter these components at all. © 1990.
