ENVIRONMENTAL RISKS OF THE ARCTIC PART OF RUSSIA

This article presents the results of a study on the assessment of environmental risks in the Arctic part of Russia. In the course of the work, 6 criteria for assessing environmental risks were identified: the presence of cryogenic processes, thawing of permafrost and freezing of non-frozen soils, the nature and magnitude of the tide, coastal transformation, the rate of coastal retreat, the presence of hazardous phenomena associated with anthropogenic activities. According to the selected criteria, a map of 4 zones of environmental risks of a given territory was created and analyzed: zones of maximum, increased, conditional environmental risk, as well as a zone of no environmental risk.
