Genitourinary syndrome of lactation – a new name for an old problem?

Until recently, it was difficult to discuss such a narrow, complex problem associated with the physiological/lactation amenorrhea due to terminological defects and the lack of appropriate attention to the problem from both medical science and clinicians. Today, genitourinary syndrome of lactation (GSL) is a frequently used term reflecting the symptoms of vulvovaginal atrophy against the background of the decline in the quality of life in women during lactation.
